Dr. Tetyana Dovzhuk on Dr. Chynn helping Ukraine!

Dr. Chynn is going to offer graduate students there a scholarship to come to NYC for 1-2 months to study in the USA. He will give lectures to MDs, MBAs, and PhDs in Kiev, Kharkov, Sumy, and Liviv, Ukraine about medicine, business in America (Dr. Chynn also has his MBA from NYU), and mastering English as a foreigner (Dr. Chynn scored in the 99th percentile in both the English and math sections of the GMAT). He is providing sufficient funding to pay for their airfare, housing in NYC, and living stipend.

The Chynn Family Foundation

The Chynn Family Foundation was formed in 2009 by K. York Chynn, MD, a retired Attending Radiologist at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center and former Division Chief of Neuroradiology, and Clinical Professor of Radiology at Columbia University’s College of Physician’s & Surgeons, where he taught medical students, interns, residents, and fellows for 20 years.

Dr. Chynn’s wife, Marie Noelle Chynn, MSW is also a Board Member. The third Board Member is his son, Emil William Chynn, MD, FACS, MBA, a graduate of Columbia University’s P & S, and prominent ophthalmologist in New York City specializing in laser vision correction, particularly the newer, more advanced, non-cutting technique known as LASEK, and the owner of www.ParkAvenueLASEK.com

The Chynn Family Foundation was funded initially with $1,000,000 of Dr. KY Chynn’s estate, which the younger Dr. Chynn and his two sisters, Monica and Audrey agreed to forgo as their inheritance, and use this money instead to fund scholarships, awards, and other initiatives in the field of education and promoting “filial piety.”
